This plate was crafted in Yamanaka - Japan by Gato Mikio, combining ancestral techniques of woodturning and lacquerware unique to this region. The wood is carefully chosen, sawn in a particular way to show vertical grains, hand carved and lacquered with very thin layers to respect the beauty of natural wood. This plate can also be used as a small tray.
